The Giclee

The giclee printing process is the most advanced form of digital printmaking capable of reproducing artwork with remarkable reproduction of the original’s qualities and technique. These reproductions offered are all done with either an Iris or a Roland printer, on a variety of the highest quality archival paper with faithfulness to the original artwork.

From an archival standpoint, the giclee is as permanent and lasting as any other work of art done on paper; and as such, it requires a consciousness about its maintenance. With flat dry storage, the giclee will last permanently. Framed and placed in direct sunlight, some fading will occur, as with any work of art on paper.

Framing a giclee requires strict conservation materials and procedures. Framed imprudently, as in dry mounting or placing in a frame with cardboard containing acids, foxing and deterioration will also occur. Please consult a competent, professional framer about conservation framing.
